What happens in Older Elements?
Older Elements is our group for young people in school years 10-13. We follow a monthly programme as follows:
CELEBRATION- 1st Tuesday of each month Along with Younger Elements - A time of worship, teaching, ministry (& randomness & cake!) CELLS(2nd and 3rd Tuesdays of month) We meet together in the church and then split into cells to look at the weeks theme, catch up with each other and to pray. CLUSTERS (4th Tuesday of month) Looking outwards to friends, community and the world. We split into two clusters - ‘6:8’; a cluster with a heart and passion for justice and ‘body and soul’; a cluster focused around sport and games as a way to ‘love life’ and to invite others, and ‘arts café’ (working title only!!); a new cluster using the arts in a café environment to present and represent God in new ways, to friends and to the community. So….this term…….ON TUESDAYS Week 1: THE CELEBRATION - 6-8:00pm in church & 8-9pm in Blend cafe Week 2: CELLS 7-8:45pm in church Week 3:CELLS 7-8:45pm in church
Week 4: CLUSTERS7-8:45pm- all meet in the youth room (Blend cafe) Week 5: NO ELEMENTS - gathering for youth leaders, cell leaders & Cluster leaders

The vision of Older Elements is as follows:
The Vision
SO...What's the big idea?
The vision is Jesus, the vision is heaps of embers being ignited by his breath, it is of new fire forged out of the old but lighting up in new places, the vision is of new wine poured out into new wine skins for the old ones would just burst. The vision is a generation bored with apathy, fed up with empty words but dangerously passionate with a love of life, living out lives of love. The vision is a generation who will change nations, break chains and fetters and strongholds. They will charge the darkness and not hold back.
The vision is of a people of fire committed to going deeper and wider and higher with God with an overwhelming sense of identity that they are lovingly hand made in the image of God and called for his purpose – people of changed hearts with a heart for change.
Of a people of the earth, passionate about God's world and God's people. A people who go to those in poverty, those who are broken, those who are lonely and those who are empty, to the poor and to the rich, to strangers and to friends - understanding that if one person truly loved as God loves, nations would crumble, bonds would be broken, freedom would break out and creation would be restored.
Of a people of the water, thirsty to see the love and grace an power of God flow out to the nations, a love that is uncontainable and unconditional. A people who will follow Christ to the street corner, their schools, their colleges, their jobs and their homes, into their future and into the four corners of the world.
Of a people of the wind, desperate in their hunger for the presence and power of God. A people who cry out in prayer with everything they have. A people who worship God in the good times and the bad. A people not ashamed to be counted as a follower of Christ. Believing that we only see a glimpse of what is possible, only a snapshot of a far bigger horizon.
Of a people of the body, wholeheartedly embracing and lifting each other up - cheering each other on. A movement of the Spirit bringing Christ, peace, justice and love. A people who think they can change the world.....and do!
They will bear this image without shame, without fear and with no sense of apology, unleashed as jewels, as precious water to a thirsty world.
They won't stop, the old order has gone, now is the time.........
